It’s Rosacea Awareness Month.

This April it is Rosacea Awareness month worldwide so we thought we should shed some light on the condition we see daily.

Rosacea is a very common, but poorly understood chronic but treatable disease that affects millions of people worldwide. It is non-contagious, skin inflammation accompanied by facial flushing, redness, pustules, and more. Rosacea presents differently in every individual however the most common symptoms include:

  • Flushing

  • Bumps, pimples& pustules

  • Visible blood vessels

  • Redness

  • Eye irritation

  • Itchiness

  • tightness

  • Dryness

Rosacea is a disease that needs to be managed over the course of a person’s life as there is no current cure. The good news is there are so many treatments & a large amount of skincare that works effectively in managing Rosacea.

Rosacea is driven and is heavily impacted by what is happening internally and externally. People who suffer from Rosacea are encouraged to learn and identify their triggers, these vary from person to person but can include:

  • Emotional stress

  • Alcohol consumption

  • Weather eg. sun, wind, humidity, heat

  • hot baths

  • Spicy food

  • Dairy

  • High histamine foods

  • Cosmetics containing large amounts of alcohol or fragrance

If you present in the clinic with rosacea our goal is to help you identify and mitigate your triggers, calm down the active rosacea, and bring your skin to a point where you are happy and the rosacea is managed. Of course, we can never guarantee that you won’t have flare-ups, but we can guarantee we will help you through them.

Our favourite treatments we recommend for clients suffering from rosacea:

Our go-to skincare:

  • Serum Erythros

  • Tole creme

  • Creme verte espoir

  • Beta Gel

  • At home enzyme

Rosacea can be emotionally and physically debilitating, be kind to yourself and practice some self-care.
