Dermamelan Hyperpigmentation Treatment

The Gold Standard in Hyperpigmentation Treatment

At The Clinic Skin Health & Wellness, we offer Dermamelan®, the world’s most effective medical-grade pigmentation peel for treating hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, and stubborn dark spots. This advanced depigmentation treatment is scientifically formulated to correct, control, and prevent pigmentation, restoring a clearer, brighter, and more even skin tone.

What is Hyperpigmentation & Why Does It Occur?

Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition that causes brown patches, sunspots, melasma, and uneven skin tone, often appearing on the face, hands, and décolletage. It occurs when the body overproduces melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. This can be triggered by:

  • Sun exposure – UV damage accelerates melanin production
  • Hormonal changes – Pregnancy, menopause, and oral contraceptives can lead to melasma
  • Genetics – Some individuals are more prone to pigmentation disorders
  • Inflammation & injury – Acne scars, burns, and skin trauma can cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)

How Dermamelan® Works

Dermamelan® is a powerful professional peel that blocks tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. This effectively stops the formation of new pigmentation while reducing existing dark spots, leading to brighter, clearer, and more uniform skin. Unlike traditional skin peels, Dermamelan® provides long-term pigment correction by addressing the root cause of hyperpigmentation.

The Dermamelan® 2-Phase Treatment Process

Phase 1: Intensive Depigmentation (In-Clinic Treatment)

  • A detailed skin analysis and consultation determine your suitability for Dermamelan®.
  • The Dermamelan® mask is applied in-clinic and left on for 8 to 12 hours, depending on skin type.
  • The mask is then removed at home, initiating the deep depigmentation process.

Phase 2: Home Maintenance & Prevention (3+ Months)

  • After 48 hours, you begin an at-home skincare protocol to continue treating pigmentation and prevent recurrence.
  • This includes a maintenance cream, cleanser, toner, and moisturiser, all included in your treatment plan.
  • Sun protection is essential - UV exposure can trigger new pigmentation, so a high-SPF sunscreen is mandatory.

Why Choose Dermamelan®?

  • Clinically proven to reduce pigmentation by up to 95%
  • Targets the root cause – Blocks melanin overproduction, preventing future pigmentation
  • Suitable for all skin types & tones – Effective on fair to deep complexions
  • Improves skin texture & radiance – Brightens, refines, and smooths the skin
  • Long-term results – Ongoing home care prevents pigmentation from returning
  • Customisable treatment plans – Designed to fit your skin’s specific needs and lifestyle.

Downtime & Recovery

Dermamelan® is a highly effective treatment that requires some downtime. Expect redness, flaking, and peeling for the first 7–10 days as your skin renews itself. We will coordinate your treatment schedule to ensure minimal disruption to your routine. This is a four month commitment that includes intermittent peeling during this period.

If your skin is better suited to a gentler alternative, we may recommend Cosmelan®, a slightly milder depigmentation treatment that still delivers outstanding results.
