Rosacea needs a calm, considered approach rather than aggressive treatment. At The Clinic Skin Health & Wellness in Campbell, Canberra, we help manage redness, flushing and sensitivity with gentle, targeted therapies and barrier-supporting homecare designed to keep your skin settled long term.
What causes rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition that causes persistent facial redness, visible vessels, flushing and sometimes acne-like bumps, most often across the cheeks, nose and chin. The exact cause is not fully understood, but it involves an over-reactive vascular response, a compromised skin barrier, inflammation, gut and immune factors and sometimes Demodex mites. Common triggers include sun, heat, alcohol, spicy food, stress and sudden temperature changes. Rosacea cannot be cured, but it can be managed very effectively once your triggers and systemic drivers are understood.
How we treat rosacea at The Clinic
- Laser Genesis and vascular laser to calm persistent redness and reduce visible vessels.
- Skin needling with insulin, Rejuran or exosomes to repair the barrier and improve skin quality.
- Biostimulatory and anti-inflammatory injectables to settle inflammation and support the skin from within.
- LED light therapy to calm inflammation.
- Gentle, barrier-supporting facials such as our Biologique Recherche facials.
- Soothing homecare like SkinBetter Mystro Active Balance Serum, Biologique Recherche Sérum Biosensible and Epicutis Lipid Serum, plus daily SPF.

What to expect & realistic timelines
Because rosacea is a long-term condition, our goal is control and comfort rather than a one-off fix. Many people notice calmer, less reactive skin within a few weeks of starting barrier repair and trigger management, while vascular laser and Laser Genesis for redness typically work best over a short course of sessions. We deliberately avoid harsh, heat-based or stripping treatments that can flare rosacea, and we build a maintenance plan to keep your skin settled over time.
A multidisciplinary team behind your skin
You are never treated in isolation. Rosacea often has internal drivers, so our integrative medical doctors and dermal clinicians work together to calm it from the outside in and the inside out, and our microbiome chemist can formulate bespoke supplements to support your skin barrier and gut-skin axis. It all begins with our 90-minute bespoke skin consultation, where we build a plan tailored specifically to you, and you will leave with a skin concern fact sheet and a meal plan developed to treat your skin from the inside out.
Frequently asked questions
Can rosacea be cured?
No, but it can be managed very effectively. With the right treatments, trigger management and homecare, most people achieve calmer, more comfortable, less reactive skin.
What triggers rosacea flare-ups?
Common triggers include sun, heat, alcohol, spicy food, stress, vigorous exercise and sudden temperature changes. Part of your plan is identifying and managing your personal triggers.
Is laser safe for rosacea?
Yes. Used appropriately, vascular laser and Laser Genesis are among the most effective tools for reducing persistent redness and visible vessels.
What skincare should I avoid?
Harsh scrubs, high-strength acids, stripping cleansers and fragrance can aggravate rosacea. We focus on gentle, barrier-supporting products instead.
