How chemical peels treat acne & congestion
Every breakout begins inside the pore. Dead skin cells that should shed naturally instead bind with excess oil, forming a plug (a comedone) that traps bacteria and sets off inflammation. Congestion-prone skin sheds cells unevenly, which is why blackheads and bumpy texture keep returning even with a disciplined home routine.
Chemical peels intervene where cleansers and scrubs cannot. Oil-compatible and biphasic formulas, like our TCA-based BioRePeel, travel into the pore itself and dissolve the bonds holding blocked cells together, clearing congestion at its source rather than just polishing the surface. Repeated treatments re-train the skin to shed evenly, regulate oil flow and speed the fading of red and brown post-breakout marks. For pitted or textured acne scarring, deeper resurfacing peels stimulate fresh collagen to progressively smooth the skin’s surface.
Most acne peels are performed as a series of four to six treatments, two to four weeks apart, with your clinician adjusting the strength as your skin clears. Active breakouts, sensitivity and scarring each call for a different formula, so every course starts with a skin assessment. Book a consultation or call (02) 6230 0691.
